Beeskow Castle

Burg1_MTZ.JPG

Talking of Beeskow’s attractions, climbing the ‘Bergfried’, the central tower of Beeskow Castle is definitely one of them. From its top, at a height of 30 m. Among other properties in nearby towns (e.g. Friedland and Storkow), Beeskow Castle was under the ownership of various knights and bishops.

It was first mentioned in the old documents of 1272. The castle was converted and reconstructed several times and is an important cultural centre and a museum of art and history today, both regionally and nationwide.

The tower is open to visitors who will be rewarded with a spectacular view over the town and its surroundings.
