Oldest house

The oldest preserved dwelling of the eastern Mark Brandenburg

 

 

Haus

It is situated in the Kirchgasse,

which  leads directly to the market

square in Beeskow, right in front of the

west facadeof St. Mary’s Church.

 

Having been used as a store room

before the big town fires of 1512 and 1513, it was one of the few remaining buildings

and used as a dwelling house later.

After its successfulrestoration in

1995 it is now an intriguing example

and illustration of life in the Middle Ages.
